Driving School

About Me

I was born in Shipdham in 1961 and was educated at Shipdham Primary School, before going on to Hamond's Grammar School in Swaffham. Leaving school with 10 O'levels, I joined Lloyds TSB where I worked for over 20 years, acquiring the ACIB and a City and Guilds Certificate in Customer service.

A few years ago I decided that I wanted to become a driving instructor and undertook all of the appropriate training. Within a year I had qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (car). Since then I have been working with a national driving school as a franchised instructor, gaining valuable experience and getting a good success rate for test passes into the bargain!! Subsequently I decided to become a fully independent driving instructor. I am a member of the Driving Instructors Association and am always keen to update my knowledge about new developments within the industry. I have also obtained my Diploma in Driving Instruction.

Outside work, I have a big interest in Sport – both watching and participating. As time has gone by I have had to hang up my football and cricket boots, but these have now been replaced with golfing and bowling shoes. During the winter, I also enjoy a spot of skiing. My other big passion is travel and I have visited quite a lot of the far–flung places of the world. One of my biggest achievements was reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro a few years ago and raising a nice sum of money for cancer research in doing so. Any other spare time is spent listening to music and reading.
