TERMS AND CONDITIONS

LEARNER DRIVER

In order to have driving lessons you must:

Be aged 17 or older (16 or over if disabled)

Hold a driving licence that is valid for the UK (provisional, full or an appropriate foreign licence)

It is your responsibility to provide your instructor with proof that you have a valid licence to drive before the commencement of your first driving lesson. If you fail to provide this proof, your instructor is entitled to refuse to conduct the driving lesson but may still charge you for such driving lesson.

PAYING FOR LESSONS

A deposit is to be paid on booking your first lesson that will be used for 2 hours of your test. Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE

A payment for one driving lesson is needed in advance, at least 72 hours before the scheduled lesson. This is to avoid customers getting into debt with me.

It is your responsibility to keep track on when your bulk lessons run out. You will need to top up one lesson in advance.

Your lesson will only be booked if you have paid up to date. Do not assume that if you have the same slot each week, it will go ahead. This will only go ahead if confirmed by myself, and it has been paid for.

I accept bank transfer, please clearly state your name so I can allocate your payment.

I accept PayPal, and can send my paypal.me link.

I accept cash, but digital transfer is preferred.

CANCELLATIONS

If you need to cancel a lesson, a minimum of 48 hours notice must be given. Failure to give 48 hours notice will result in the lesson(s) being charged at your usual rate. Lessons can be cancelled by telephone or text message but must be acknowledged by your instructor.

LESSONS

It is a Legal Requirement for all customers wanting to learn to drive must have in their possession a provisional or full UK driver's licence. Lessons cannot be undertaken if the customer does not possess a provisional licence or full UK drivers licence as this is a criminal offence. All customers must present their licence to their driving instructor upon their first driving lesson as well as their national insurance number, this is to access their electronic counterpart on their licence, to confirm their identity. Any candidate who can not or doesn't produce their licence and national insurance number on their first driving lesson will be charged for that lesson but it will not go ahead.

At times I may be late for your lesson due to unforeseen traffic, accidents, breakdown or roadworks. If this is the case I will either adjust the lesson time, or make it up on another lesson. I will try and contact you, but please be aware that if i am driving, this may not be possible.

You must follow my instructions at all times to keep us safe. Failure to follow my instructions may result in myself taking over the car and terminating the lesson.

Lessons are 2 hours. This includes the time to get to locations where given your ability it is safe for you to drive. If you would prefer we can arrange to meet at a different location to give you more drive time. On the day of your test your lesson price will include the drive to and from the test location.

You must inform me within 48 hours if you require picking up from a different location agreed. This is because my diary is planned with travel time between lessons, if this is not done the time will be deducted from your lesson.

If you are late for your lesson, it will end at the scheduled time and you will be charged for the full lesson. Please remember that you are booking lessons at specific start and finish times in my scheduled diary.

I will wait for 15 minutes for you to arrive for your lesson before leaving and charging you the full lesson price. I will try to call or text you in that time.

Mobile phones need to be on silent or switched off and stored away. It is an offence to use a mobile device whilst in the drivers seat.

It is your responsibility to notify myself of any change of your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, or for example if your provisional licence has been revoked or for medical reasons such as epilepsy.

You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In the event of their being any signs of alcohol/drug abuse before or on your lesson, your lesson(s) will be terminated until you are in a legal and fit state to drive. In this instance I will terminate our relationship and you will need to find a new instructor. You will be charged for that lesson.

Should you fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving and are likely to be a danger to other road users, or are in an unfit condition through substance or alcohol abuse as described above, I have a responsibility to the DVSA examiners not to allow the use of the training vehicle for the purpose of the driving test. This is in the interest of the pupil, the examiner and other road users and is a precautionary safety measure. Driving Standards Agency guidelines do not allow for a pupil to take a practical test just for the experience.

You must meet the minimum eye test requirements, which means you must be able to read a standard UK approved number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet). If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement then you must wear them whenever you drive.

Please do not take medication that prohibits you from driving before the lesson. Any prescribed medication that may effect your driving should be declared to the instructor and to the DVLA medical board.

Please ensure that you have sufficient sleep before the lesson.

Myself as the instructor is responsible for our safety, but ultimately as the driver, you are responsible for ours, and everyone else's safety.

Block bookings allow you the customer to make priority bookings weeks in advance to the total time duration to the block booking purchased. Additionally this allows you to choose specific day time slots.

THE TEST

You must only book your practical driving test when you have run it by me to avoid disappointment, in case you are not ready or to avoid double bookings with other customers.

If you decide to book your test against my approval, I have the right to refuse the use of my vehicle.

At the end of the test, whatever the outcome you will not drive home due to the amount of driving and the stress you have been under. This is for our safety and insurance purposes.

The test will be booked over a 3 hour slot. This gives you time to practice, get to the test centre, perform the test, and then the journey home. Even though I will be driving home, this is still within the 3 hours as you are paying for my fuel and time.

No responsibility can be taken for tests cancelled by the DVSA for whatever reason. Lessons will have to be paid for but can be claimed back from the DVSA. The instructor cannot be responsible if you fail because of the eyesight test. Your instructor will be responsible if the test is cancelled due to the condition of the tuition vehicle.

THE CAR

Please treat the car as if it was your own. This car is my business car that I own, therefore it must be treated with respect.

Please take your rubbish with you.

Please wear clean clothes and clean shoes to avoid damaging the upholstery and car mats.

Any damage caused by undue care will be charged directly to you, or taken from your lesson payments.

No food is to be consumed in the vehicle.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

I will commit to working my hardest in ensuring that you are able to drive safely on UK roads.

I will adjust to your learning needs and ability

I will be honest, and require complete honesty from you

I have a good reputation in avoiding cancelling lessons unless there is an issue with the car.

If I have to cancel your lesson, I will rebook your lesson for as soon as possible.

I will not only teach you the rules of the roads, how to drive, but how to handle the increasingly busy roads.

I will also show you how to put fuel in the car using the pumps, inflating tyres, and topping up fluids to make you ready for real driving!
